2018 Spring Newsletter

The 2017 Fishing and Hunting seasons were very successful, with numerous Northern Pike over 45” and an amazing amount of trophy Walleyes. The hunting season for both Black Bear and the Majestic Manitoba Moose went off without a hitch. For the many guests that enjoyed our 2017 season, and should you have any great photos, we would love to see them.

As many of you are preparing for a festive Easter weekend we would like to take a few minutes to update you for the 2018 season.

Our winter work crews have been extremely busy with building materials going North to restore and up-date the Poplar River Camp. As many guests who have been to this camp over the years you will surely appreciate the new look and enjoy all the comforts of home together with the scenic beauty of Northern Manitoba.

We are booking this camp now for the 2018 season!

With Manitoba being leaders in the field regarding a “catch and release” program, we are really seeing the amount of trophies caught at an incline each year. With some openings still available for the 2018 fishing season, we look forward to hearing from you and allowing us to provide you once again with the ultimate fishing experience.

If it’s family, friends or possible a corporate get-away, between 2 or 24 guests we have a camp that can meet your needs.

With the 2018 season just around the corner, and we are starting to enjoy some beautiful spring weather, excitement and anticipation consumes our business and employees. We are looking forward to see so many of you at Lac du Bonnet this spring and throughout the summer, better yet, would love to see you at one of our camps.

Harrop Lake Outpost is a 5 cabin deluxe facility that can accommodate groups ranging from 2-24 people. Each separate cabins has a full bathroom, hot and cold running water and shower. The kitchens are equipped with all pots, pan, etc. Propane BBQ's fish cookers and wood stoves are provided each cabin. 
 



Journey 163 miles northwest of our float plane base in Lac du Bonnet to beautiful Harrop Lake. Your dream of adventure fishing takes a wilder turn when you reach this breathtaking beauty of the Lake... The perfect getaway for the ultimate adventure seeker.

BLACK CURRANT LAKE

   An excellent all-season walleye

Black Currant Lake is located 143 miles northwest of our floatplane base in Lac du Bonnet.
Guest staying at Black Currant Lake will drive to our Float base in Lac du Bonnet or fly to Winnipeg where we can assist to arrange round trip transportation to and from our Float base.
 
Black Currant Lake is 3 miles (5Km) wide & 4 miles (6.5km) long. Our cabin on this popular outpost is located on the  island in the middle of the lake. Excellent all-season walleye lake because of its depth and structure. Depth exceeds 50 feet in some areas with the main lake ranging from 24' to 32' in depth.
Average walleye size 18"-24" and 27"-40" Northern Pike. You'll catch so many walleye and pike you will be calling yourself a master angler by the time you head home.

EARDLEY LAKE

      pike and walleye"


This is the lake for avid angers who enjoy the challenge of "hunting" for big fish. Eardley Lake boasts numerous island and reefs; an endless variety of structure that provides habitat and forage for fierce trophy Northern and tasty Walleye in quantities that will test your angling endurance. You'll love it. Everyone does.
Eardley lake is only cabin located on an island at the west end with a western exposure. Here you will find a twelve person frame cabin with screen porch, full kitchen with one refrigerator, freezer, gas stove, hot and cold running water, indoor bathroom and shower.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all pots, pans, utensils and dishes. Outside there is a propane fish cooker, BBQ, screened-in fish house with running water. Solar power and wood stove are provided.

KATHY'S LAKE 
    OUTPOST 
    
Kathy's Lake is an excellent Walleye
lake where the catches average 18"-24" and Northern Pike average 27"-37". It's a great place to test the waters and you just might catch your master angler in no time.

The cabin is located on an island in the center of the lake and has been expanded and fully remodeled in the fall of 2012 to accommodate eight guests. It is a two bedroom frame cabin with screen porch, hot and cold running water, indoor shower and toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped with all pots, pans, a large fridge/freezer and gas stove. Propane BBQ and propane fish cooker are provided.

Kathy's lake is two miles wide and six miles long. Average depths are ten to fifteen feet with some deeper areas. The largest northern caught so far weighing in at an arm bending 33lbs. Try out Kathy's lake in May, June, July and August for the best result.
